This August has been filled with incredible thunder, lightning and rain storms! While i could go without the rain, I LOVE LOVE LOVE thunder and lightning. I always watched it with my dad growing up and i guess the love for it just stuck. I've sat out many nights on our covered front porch in my porch rocker in a blanket and watched these storms come and go.
I walked out the door last week and saw this picture right in front of me and it was to great to not include in my blog book! Here's to more great summer storms.

Lagoon...its what fun is! (or isn't)
I am still slightly baffled sometimes that people pay gobs of money to stand in line with rude people in the hot sun with tired kids to ride a ride for a minute. Ok, Ok that wasnt really our story this time. But its true that some people look that miserable and I think...you pay money for this?!
Our trip was actually really fun! We got there right at opening time and went straight for Rattle Snake Rapids! (I should insert here that we left Bri with a friend who has a day care which I was so grateful for!)
We all got soaked and walked around in squishy shoes the rest of the day. The line was so short we went several times back to back. The line on that one is usually so long we for go that one so I was determined to get on it this time.
Mollie rode most of the rides but was actually pretty content to hang out with me if there was a ride she wasnt too sure about. She had some anxiety for the first part of the day but when she realized that the rides were fun AND scary (not just scary) she calmed down a bit. Her favorite ride of the day? A fast rollercoaster called Bombora...Go figure :)
This picture sums up most of the day...Mollie was a bit whiney from her anxiety and Carter couldn't contain his excitement. In this picture as we were boarding the train we couldnt find mollie. Come to find out Chad went back and found her leg caught in a gate and she was freaking out! But Dad of course came to the rescue.
This egg drop ride scared me to death but the kids sure loved it.
And of course Carter had to ride the bumper cars a hundred times. Mollie wouldnt be caught dead in one!
Her ride of choice was the Merry go Round. She absolutely loved it and her sparkly horse and smiled the cutest smile the whole way around
Dad was even a good sport and hopped on a frog.
Spinning rides are not my cup of tea (haha) so while the kids went on the spinning tea cups I sat back and drank a diet coke and tried to dry out my wet socks and shoes.
Carter was a good brother and helped his sister get on and off of rides and held her hand. So sweet and cute!
Here are the tired parents. Chad got called into work the night before we left so he was pretty tired. But we had a good fun day and the kids were nice and exhausted for bed time. So were we!

Off to the Corporate Races!
He was like a 5 year old boy on christmas morning! He was so excited and I was happy to let him go and play.
The only shots i really got was of him getting in and out of the cart because he was going by so fast.
And I'm thinking that this might be a permanent thing in our future some day. Chad really likes it and would like to get into it for individual racing. We will see! Boys and their toys!!
End of summer Bon Fire
Since August has arrived I've been trying to pack in as many summer things as i possible can! A bon fire in the mountains has been something I've been wanting to do for a while so we loaded up some wood (our old fence we tore down) grabbed some hot dogs and marshmallows and headed to the mountains!
We just let the kids roam wild and play in the dirt. and boy did they get DIRTY!!!
This is Mollies little friend Ella and I can't get over her posing! She would strike the same pose for each picture I took!
And Carter was the dirtiest and the happiest of them all. He lives to play outside. It was such a fun evening but I think we will wait until September for our next fire because it still was a little toasty outside!

8 months old!
Little Brielle has been such a fun baby! She is getting to be very mobile even though she isn't crawling yet (it wont be long though!). She pushes up on all fours, but then plops on her belly and rolls to where she wants to be.
I got her all dress up to go to the fair and we couldn't even get in.... Tooele fair = Lamest fair ever!
Her eyes are getting bluer every day. One eye is more greenish blue and the other is more bluish green.
She loves to swing and closes her eyes and holds her breath when she does but she never stops smiling!
And most mornings I find her sitting up in her crib patiently waiting for me to get her. She just learned to sit up on her own a week ago and so its a shock still to walk in and find her this way.
And this is the first month that we have noticed change in her Hemangeoma on her forehead. It is lightening and starting to clear in the middle. I don't think it will be gone by the time she is 1 but maybe by 2!
This little gal eats more for breakfast than almost anyone in the house and she would eat all day if I would let her. She discovered snacks this month and has been in heaven ever since and knows what to expect when i put her in her high chair. She usually shoves a whole snack in her mouth at once and I've done the Heimlich at least once a week!
All in all this little gal is such a Joy to have. With Carter entering kindergarten soon I've realized how fast time does fly and to try to cherish every moment. It seems like just yesterday that Carter was the one filling this seat. I'm grateful for subtle reminders to slow down and love on my kids.

Goodbye Boat
The day came when I knew we needed to find this beauty a new home. She hasn't been wet since we moved to Utah. The lake is just so far away and it's hard to take lots of little kids boating on our own and it's a small boat so it's even harder to take people with us.
It was a hard decision but the only thing that makes it better is that our nephew Chaz bought it and he lives close to us. So we will probably actually use it more with him owning it!
Carter had fun hanging out in the big truck.
While I may have gotten a bit teary eyed as it pulled away, I am happy she is being put to good use and can give other people some more incredible memories and fun times. Till we meet again!
