For an anniversary gift, Chad bought us a scratch off date adventure book. I'll admit, for some reason its hard to commit to doing the challenges, but we decided we'd do whatever we chose to scratch off. We picked one with food, so it can't be too weird right? This was the one we scratched off.
We picked the lovely city of EUREKA to go visit! While we were there, I had to go visit the mine where a gruesome crime from my town took place. Breezy and Riley were brutally murdered at the opening of a mine shaft and pushed down the shaft, to hopefully never be seen again. Someone cracked and told police where they were. And it was in this small sleepy town that they chose to dump their bodies. There is a huge memorial outside the blocked off mine shaft. It was a somber place to visit. Next up was lunch at B's hangout. It was really good food and we were nearly the only ones in the restaurant. I'd seriously go again!
Next, we drove around town checking out alot of old creepy buildings. How is this building even standing still?
This church is just cute and charming.
We window peeked at some of the museum windows since alot of them were closed. They were full of mining gear since this is the history of their town.
Cute Main St where our friends restaurant is at - Cast Iron Bistro. We swung in and picked up some home made chicken pot pie for dinner. It was yummy!
Porter Rockwells cabin was transported to this town. Pretty amazing.
It was a good time here in Eureka!
On the way home we learned that the $10,000 that had been stollen through card fraud would earlier that week would be returned to us. We chatted with the fraud department and they explained to us how they got our info and how sick and relentless these guys are! I am SO glad we were able to get this money back. So it was a happy ride home!
