Kids sure bring the magic of Christmas. Clyde & Evelyn reminded us of this many times while they were here. We were so happy they were able to join us for our first Christmas in our new home. Chad told the kids they weren't coming because of the storm that was coming but when they walked through the door about 4pm I thought their excitement would burst them wide open!
We had our traditional fondue Christmas Eve dinner and, as always, really enjoyed it!Grandpa was introduced to fidgets and pop-its. And he spent alot of time popping it!
We did jammies and the Christmas story and shared memories of our favorite Christmases.
The kids were all fairly calm compared to past years and I was glad it was just an easy mellow evening!
After jammies we all snuggled into our big couch to watch the Polar Express! I loved that we could all fit on it together!
We of course did cookies for Santa earlier in the day too.
And finally the kids were in bed and Santa could come!
Just magical! Until the crazy hit!
I think the kids were up at like 330....and they stayed in the basement while G&G controlled them until 530 or so. We were rudely awakened by the loudest singing to Jingle Bells I've ever heard!
dSanta brought Rylee a Barbie doctor set.
A polaroid for Brielle,
And a fast remote control car for Carter!
G&G got goodies in their socks!
And this big treat put a big smile on Chad's face!
Many other fun gifts were given and received!
And one of Chads gifts from his parents was a Prime Rib! Chad wants one every year but I just can't justify the price for a meat I don't love that much....but it sure made him happy. And I was happy I didn't have to cook it! He gladly did it with his mom.
And after cinnamon rolls for breakfast and all the gifts were opened, a few of us began to crash here and there. I took TWO naps on Christmas and they were so nice! Chad finally crashed around dinner time after an exhausting day of setting up devices and all the fun post Christmas things!
We felt extremely blessed, as we do every year, but this year we had more and were able to do more and that always makes us feel good to provide a nice Christmas for our kids. We try to never go overboard and be realistic, but sometimes its just fun to spoil the people you love. This year Santa brought Chad some shelving for the garage! I got a sign I really wanted for our bedroom. What a wonderful time Christmas day is. Merry, Merry Christmas!
