BMX is back

BMX is back in full swing and this guy is hungry as ever! He really is driven this year and has a passion for it and a goal to advance this year.

We've already seen some growth from the end of last year and we know he will keep growing with how excited he is about it!

Around this time of year he started high school football. He went for several days and tried hard. He didn't feel like he was good enough and 90 freshmen came to tryouts. NINETY!!!! He was pretty discouraged most of the time he was going. One day he broke down a little. He was so upset. I told him he didn't have to play football. That he could do anything he wanted to and we would support him.

You could see a big burden lift off of him. He really wanted to put all his energy to BMX and once he made that decision he was a different kid. He was happy, motivated and excited to practice and improve. I always thought I'd have a football son, but the scene in Utah was just.....hard. And I'm 100% ok that he is doing what he loves and not what he felt like he had to do.

Carter's last day of Jr High

Jr High went so fast for Carter it seemed. He has been looking forward to high school for quite a while and was happy jr high was over. He learned some hard lessons on staying organized and turning things on time, but he learned them well and really did great in 8th grade.
He wouldnt let me get a pic but here is his back walking into school.

Happy last day buddy! Here comes High School! He will go to Stansbury High school in the coming year. Here we go!!!

School programs and Mollie's Last day of Elementary

Its always fun to see the kids end of school performances. Rylee was asked to be a reader in Portuguese for her program. She did great!

Brielle's class did a cute dance performance.
So did Mollies.

They showed a cute video of the 6th graders as babys.
And Mollie was honored for being on student council.
And on the Honor Roll
Sigh....she's so pretty. I couldn't help but think that in 6 more short years she will be doing this with a graduation cap on.

Mol and her 6th grade friends.
Mollie and Prof Chavez
Mrs Neilsen
These girls were BAWLING on their last day of school!!  It was cute and sad at the same time.  I'm so glad for all these girls who took Mollie in and made this year amazing for her. And that teacher....Mrs Neilsen, teacher of the year, mrs amazing herself, was SO good to Mollie. I will forever be grateful we switched schools JUST for this lady. I love her for this year.
Busting out of 6th grade!
No more elementary!
We celebrated with a donut.
And a few treats.
Peace out Rose Springs!

And She couldn't leave until she got one last pic on the soccer field where she gained respect and favoritism and 'broke ankles' over and over again I was told. All she did at recess was play soccer and we really saw her skills improve this year because of it!
Crazy we're here.....JR HIGH here she comes!

Mini Marathon Day

Rose Springs has a mini marathon every may. All the kids are required to run so many laps which equal a marathon! It was cute seeing all the kids interact and be excited for exercise!

Bri worked so hard and did great! Sway won the race!
Rylee tried so hard too! And did awesome!
I missed seeing Mollie but someone sent me a pic that she placed 4th I think. So awesome!

 Such a fun activity!!

Bumper mishap

I hit a yard sale one day and as I backed up on a narrow road, I couldn't see this truck behind me. I bumped into him and was so upset.  I got out and went and found the person at the yard sale. I explained what happened to a sweet hispanic couple.  I don't think they understood much and started to drive away. I flagged them down and gave them my insurance card with tears in my eyes. He said dont worry, dont worry, old truck!! They were so kind and through broken english told me that they'd been hit before and no one offered to tell them. so they were thankful I told them.

Our damage didn't seem bad. A cracked tail light cover and it looked like the bumper was just popped off.

We made an apt to fix it. They day before the appointment, I had to drive to park city. On the way there it was fine. On the way home I looked in my rear view mirror and saw something flapping in the wind.

It was my bumper! I had no choice but to pull over and pry it off while wearing a skirt and heels. I couldn't keep driving. There must have been more damage up underneath that we couldn't see which caused the bumper to become unattatched.
It was a sad day and I was really upset when i sent this pic to Chad. But I had to do what I had to do so I could  get home. Gosh, dumb car problems. We ended up having to buy a totally new bumper. But I learned my lesson to double check when backing up!!!

Such a BUMMER!

End of the season Soccer party

This guy....he busts his butt for this team. Their success is a direct result from his effort and passion. We love Cameron Day. We love watching these girls perfect what he teaches them and apply it and win! They've had a great season. And it's always sad when spring season comes to an end.
But it gives us a great excuse to party! Lindsey's family hosted an end of season BBQ and we had a great time!
It's always fun watching people walk into a surprise party!

The food was great and the laughter so fun!

I put together a little vid from the team asking them questions. It turned out great and I think the coaches really appreciated it.  Brian brought flowers to have the girls give to their moms for mothers day. It was such a fun night!  I love this group of kids!

They are as silly as they are serious on the field and it was an absolute joy watching these girls this season.
