More May Events

The Portuguese program is always one to remember! The kids typically sing and dance and show off their speaking skills.
Rylee's class danced first and then sang AND played their recorders on stage. She has loved learning the recorder and really had a great time showing off what she has learned and made.  Brielle's class sat on the floor and sang and I didn't get any good pictures.

Mollie participated in the Jr High track meet! They just do 1 a year and invite all the schools around to participate. I was so surprised at how good she was with never having done anything like it! She absolutely killed it and her team won out of the 3 girls teams. She ran the 100, 200, 300 HURDLES! and a relay.

Great Job girls! We really have some great athletes!

And the last day of school arrived just in time before we all exploded from all the things! All the kids hung out with friends and Ry had friends over to our house.
Kate and Maggie and Ry.
Here are some pics of Bri and her friends on the last day.
Her and Prof Chavez who had twins at the beginning of the school year!

Bri and I went on a pottery date! We got to pick a pottery item to paint and then went back a few weeks later to pick it up after they bake it for us. It really was a fun and satisfying craft and I could have stayed all day painting things! We didn't even have to clean up our mess! So fun!

HERE COMES SUMMERRRRR!!! YAY!!!

May Events

Date night with Mollie found us at the pink Cane's in Midvale. It was a sight to see for sure!

I decorated for our banquet night at the gym and I thought everything turned out really cute!

Bri had her final orchestra concert. She has grown so much in learning this instrument and absolutely loves it!
So proud of her!
She also had her second Storm cheer performance! I'm happy to say this year was a million times better than last years! Great job girls! Bri is in all the main stunts and I'm amazed at her strength as an 11 year old.

Mother's Day found us with visitors at our house! Chance's supercross race was the same exact time as the race so we were unable to go and Chad was a good dad and came to the performance, even though I know he could have been in both places. So Clyde and Evelyn and Kaylie were all around on Mother's Day and it was so fun to catch up with her and watch her being a cute little mamma!
We had fun getting to know Brecken. He's a hoot!
Mollie sent me this and told me she had had 2 monsters. I said yeah right knowing that they took empty cans to get into the pre race stuff. BUT I learned later that she DID INDEED pound 2 monsters. And that Carter had too. With how sensitive these kids are to sugar and caffeine I'm surprised their hearts didn't stop.
May is so crazy busy, so here's some more events!

Pool People

Well, this summer we decided we were going to be pool people. I don't think when we bought the pool we knew how much work it would be to prep the yard. I didn't anyway. We live on a hill and our backyard is NOT flat. By a long ways. So we started by making a circle and cutting and moving grass. So much grass.

Once that was done, we brought in dirt. So much dirt. We tried digging down but the ground was SO hard. So we brought dirt in and more dirt. And stomped it down. Then did it again. We added brick and more brick until it was a perfectly prepped beautiful 22 ft circle.  We really were impressed with how hard the kids all worked. Some of them surprised us (BRI!) with how much they liked to work!
Chad and Rylee built the pool fairly quickly after all the prep work was done. Then we added water. SO MUCH WATER. 3 days of constant water running from my hose. It filled about an inch per hour.

And when the time finally came to swim, everyone was so happy! It took a few days to warm up before I wanted to get in. But when I did it was so fun! Rylee and Bri have been out there every day and that in itself has made it worth it!

And how cute does Chad look in a pink flamingo floatie?! HAPPY SUMMER!
