Everything is AWESOME!

The day of his party finally arrived! He requested a lego theme and a lego party is what he got!
We started out with lego hunt (like an egg hunt but with legos) and once they gathered all the legos they could we had a lego tower building contest!
Our neighbor girl and good friend Hayley won the tallest standing tower prize!
Whats a party without pin the HEAD on the LEGO guy?!
He invited 12 friends and 10 were able to make it so with Mollie we had 11 little bodies running around. It was a little nuts!

The lego table spread complete with cheeseballs, cupcakes with lego candy, marshmallow lego head pops, lego juice boxes and lego candy. The pinata is in the back right corner with a scared look on his face. (which i got zero pictures of because I was busy playing referee and protecting kids from swinging sticks!)

Happy birthday to you! He even had lego candles on his cupcakes!
Everything was awesome...including when it was over.
I'm grateful Carter is learning to make friends wherever he goes and has such a good little group of buddies that treat him very well. Happy birthday Carter! Hope its one to remember!

Carter's Birthday week

Carter's birthday was on a tuesday so we celebrated all week long! A gift from his Hymas grandparents arrived a week early so he got to open it and loot came pouring out! Thanks G&G Hymas!
The night before his birthday we had a big labor day BBQ in our backyard with friends. I was too focused on that and was feeling bad once it was over that I hadn't focused much yet on making his big day special since his party wasn't until the weekend....so I quickly put this contraption together while Chad gruelingly put together a large gift in the garage.
And hung his lego birthday sign...
And wrapped presents so he could have some to open on his birthday! We usually do 1 gift in the morning so he got to open the one that was a new basketball then we led him outside to this....

He scarfed down his birthday breakfast of donut hole and fruit kabobs so he could run outside to shoot some hoops! He came back in and said he made 7 hoops because he was 7.

When I went to pick up Mollie from her first day we stayed and had lunch with Carter at school and took his class treats. Didn't get any pictures of that because he ran off to recess without even saying goodbye!

It was pure torture waiting for dad to get back home to open gifts!

He got several lego sets and some treats and lego books from his sister.
He's been begging for Minecraft and I think this picture captured his excitement when he opened it!
For dinner he requested McDonald's so we got happy meals and let the kids play on the toys.  (as you can see Mollie was very happy here....)
 All his gifts

And later in the week we took Carter to his first Bronco game! It was a really late game but I think he had a blast and it was nice to get away and give him some much needed attention. He's always so patient with me while I'm taking care of the other 3 girls.
It was a heart breaker of a game but here we are smiling still.
Stay tuned for the Lego party!

Mollie's first day of Preschool!

This gal has been counting down the days for a month to school! She is so smart and so ready to learn! She knows her alphabet and most numbers, how to write her name and can memorize anything really quick!

She wants to be a doctor and she loves to play dress up.
This year she goes to Harris Elementary and her teachers are Mrs. Marshall and Miss Aubrey
 Hooray!!! From both of us!
Her first day was also Carter's birthday and picture day! It was a busy day!
Her friend met her in the morning and walked into school with her. I think it helped her nerves a little.
 Room #2!
Miss Aubrey and Mrs Marshall in the background!
Her classroom! She was so excited, and unlike Carter, told me every detail about her day. They practiced their names and cutting on the first day and got to tell a little about themselves. She is so ready for school! And I'm so ready for someone else to help entertain her. Her little busy body and love for crafts keeps me very busy.
Sure love you Mollie Mae! I know you will do great things in life!

1st Grade!

On Aug 25th we entered into the world of Elementary school! Carter did preschool and kindergarten in a public school setting but 1st grade is all day 5 days a week! He was so excited and was up at 7 dressed and ready to go.

He wants to be a football player when he grows up.
He loves to meet friends.
And his teachers are Mrs Sparks and Professora Scariot
Sporting his XBOX shirt he was pretty proud of.
All the kiddos dressed and ready to go!
We checked out his classroom first and he starts his morning with English class and his afternoon with Portuguese! We are ecstatic about starting this dual language program!
 Bem Vindos!

He was tired his first week but he loves doing homework and meeting friends. Every day I ask about his day all I hear is about lunch and recess. Typical boy, right? He loves his teachers and is thriving in the Portuguese program. I sure love my 1st grader!!

And don't we all need a little bling for our first day of anything....well he got his first "silver tooth" to start out 1st grade with. A previously filled cavity fell out and took some tooth with it and so he had to have a cap put on. He was a champ and so brave. He tells everyone he has a silver tooth like his dad!
