Brielle has been looking forward to this day for a long time and her baptism day finally arrived!!!! We expected some family in town but as a storm threatened to ruin plans, we had more and more guest ask to come the night before! Which we loved! We had most of my brothers and both grandparents in the house Fri night! It was a party!
She woke up and got her hair done and had breakfast and was showered with gifts and lots of love.
New scriptures from mom and dad!
A towel from grandma Hymas.
Then it was time to go! The January morning air was cool and crisp, but there wasn't a cloud in the sky and the sun was shinning. It was a beautiful day!
We set up the gym the night before. She chose lavender for her color at her luncheon and luckily we could use the church gym for our luncheon.
I love this happy girl so much! She can always bring a smile to anyone. She has a pure heart and is very loving to all around her. I'm so glad she is choosing to follow Jesus because she is already so good at it!
We had so many friends and family join us for our special day!
I was so happy we got to plan our own program! She had Grandpa H and Mollie say the prayers and both of her grandmas be witnesses for the baptism.
Rylee lead the music and did a great job.
Carter gave a great talk on baptism using a Kit Kat bar to help us remember our covenants.

Chad told a funny story about Bri. He asked her why you needed the holy ghost as he was preparing his talk. Her answer? She said, "It's for when your pissed off, it can calm you down." !!!!!!!! Oh this girl!
Dad gave the talk on the Holy Ghost and we all sang "I Will Be What I Believe" at her baptism. Bri sang a solo for the last line.
And then it was time! I decided to watch from the side of the font where I helped her walk in and I'm so glad I did because I felt like I had the best spot to watch the baptism! The water was so low I was afraid she wouldn't go under! But she did! It didn't even come to Chad's knees! He said he didn't have to change his garment bottoms because they didn't get wet!
Soon after, it was time to get the holy ghost! What a special gift that is to be given through the power of God through worthy men who love her and want the best for her. There was lots of love and power in that circle!
After we closed Brielle's program, we weren't done with the fun yet! With the new year, Carter could be ordained to a Teacher! So we decided to combine the 2 and make it a very special day! Again, our loved ones surrounded Carter and gave him a special gift that comes with special responsibilities and privileges. We are so proud of the young man that he is becoming. He is eager to help prepare the sacrament and hold the doors. But I will miss him sitting by us at church.
We were thrilled when his good buddy, Mikey, realized he was old enough to stand in for the first time! How cool!
We had a soup and sandwich bar for lunch and as usual, I way over prepared! But it was ok. We had dinner for our guests and for a few days after that! And since it was winter it was perfect! We feel so blessed to have so many family and friends who are willing to travel and support us and my kids and show us so much love!!! This day was overflowing with the spirit and I had constant tears of gratitude in my eyes for all the beautiful gifts that were received that day, seen and unseen. And for a loving Heavenly Father who blesses my life and my family so much. We truly are so blessed!
