Welcome May-cember!

May is here and it is always packed with awesome things. First up, was Student of the Month assembly for Brielle! She was chosen for the value of patience! So proud of her!

Track has started and it was so fun to watch C&M run at the Y invitational. 

My little team had their showcase. They were so cute and did so good. We had to decorate for it and it was a smaller scale of candyland, but still decorated a bunch. 

It was so fun to see their faces light up as they got medals! 

Love these coaches. 

And this awesome team! I really love working with all of these people!

Then the concerts started! Bri was first with her orchestra concert. Well done sis! 

Then Ry with her band concert! They both have improved a ton!

Rylee's cute friends came to support and this was their chosen pose for the evening. 

Ry has started soccer again. Go Ry!

Baby Chase

Adam finally got a boy! Brit brought baby Chase into this world on April 13th (i think). He was super healthy and had lots of hair! Look at all of it! He is going to have the best little mamas as big sisters and I can't wait to see how they will dress him up and teach him to play dolls. Welcome to the Reed fam baby boy! 

 

Fun Things

We did a temple night with the Rowley family to go do baptisms! It was such a nice evening! We loved being in the temple with our friends. Stef and I were even baptized. 

Mol has been learning to cook a little in her cooking class. She had to make sweet potatoe fries at home for a makeup and they turned out pretty great! 

Ry has begged for this chair for quite a while and her day finally came. She purchased it on her own.

Love when we catch Carter in a silly mood. 

G&G came down and it happend to be grandma's bday, so we got to take them to dinner to celebrate. Gramps drove with C in the mustang.

And sometimes, my kids will do anything to not have to go to bed. This is how it started. 

And escalated to this....

And now here we are...wondering what in the world they are even doing! Go to bed kids! Hey, atleast they are getting some exercising in, right?!

And these silly girls had me take their pics when they turned into 2 legged monsters. 

So funny!

The spring is so busy but I'm grateful for these small moments that bring smiles and joy. I always need the reminder that it doesn't have to be a big event to bring happiness and smiles to our home.

Mollie's Prom

Mollie had a hard experience and ended up needing to break up with Hudson, her boyfriend of 3 years. It was hard but  I was so proud of her for standing up for herself and not letting anyone treat her poorly. She was sad and heartbroken and mad. She told me later she had been praying and asking for help to know what to do about Hudson. And she knew she couldn't break up with him on her own will power. So something had to happen to give her a reason. And it did, and she was brave and broke up with him. 

Not too long after, Mollie went to the boys soccer game THS v SHS. Zhane was there and they had a chance to catch up and talk. Zhane has always been in the picture. And after they spent an afternoon together, he asked her if she would be able to go to prom. (After some teasing and taunting from friends about going to prom together.) She asked us what we thought, I'd always planned for my kids to date once they turned 16. Mollie still had 6 months to go! But we love Zhane and he has always been a good friend to her. Mollie was havig some hard days at school after the break up and I was still so proud of her for making good choices and using good discernment and being very mature through all of it. I decided we would be ok with it. 

He showed up a few days later to ask her officially. 

And she showed up a few days later with an answer for him. She used a bunch of old pictures on his poster and it was so cute to see the history they have together. Secretly, I've always wanted them to date! We only had a few weeks to find a dress and get it all together but Amazon actually came in clutch and we found the most beautiful dress. 

    They had a day date at Boondocks and ate lunch at Cane's, then raced home to get ready in just about 30 min! 

But she made it just barely in time! Her friend Lyv came over and helped her get ready. Gosh she's a gorgeous girl!

Super Cute kiddos!

For years I've dreaded shopping for a dress for my teenage daughter. I really wanted it to be a positive experience and not have it be a modestly fight. Seriously, what girls wear these days leave little to the imagination and are short, tight or too revealing! I'd never let my kids where many of them. I knew it would be hard. With our short time and limited resources, we took to Amazon scouring for a modest and cute dress. I was so pleasantly surprised when she found this one that we both loved! The time line was going to be tight to get it on time, so we ordered a back up dress and was so happy it fit and arrived on time. It was long and I did have to hem it about 4 inches, which I was so nervous to do! but I did it. She got so many compliments. 

All night I got fun pics like these. 

How lucky we are to have our proms at the capitol! It seriously makes it feel so magical and is much better than a gymnasium!

cute Zhane took very good care of Mollie and spoiled her with a nice Italian dinner, ice cream and a very fun day. He's such a good kid and so respectful. 

Mollie came home and fell on the floor and said how much she liked Zhane and that she was going to marry that kid! She was so happy and I even found out that there was a kiss at the end of the night. Oh boy! I'm so glad she had a great first dance experience! I'll post their professional pics next!
