Hellos & goodbyes

Man we were sure heartbroken when our favorite neighbor, realtor and friend moved south to Arizona. But we made sure to go over and get one last popsicle and one last hug. We are going to miss this friendly lady so much!!! We wish Tripp and Alex the best in AZ.

But we were all so ecstatic when Grandma & grandpa came home from their mission in Indiana!! They drove themselves home and played their way home so there was no grand welcome home, but they did come to visit soon after so we made them a sign!
We sent the kids off to school one day and took them into the city to play! We took them to the church history museum and it was so neat! We decided we needed to return with our kids as a reward for finishing the D&C this year.

We also had to show them the SLC temple and how much construction is going on on it! Its amazing that they can do the things they are doing!

And THEN we had to introduce them to Leatherbys! It's only the best ice cream on Earth!
They were shocked at the portion sizes! SO BIG!

They came to the kids games and it was so nice to have the with us.
They got to meet Jilly officially and it didn't take Clyde long to fall in love.
A few weeks later the family gathered to welcome them home and attend their farewell. We love gathering with the Hymas family! And we are so proud of G&G's example and honorable return. They definitely had a difficult mission with covid!
All the kids gifted them this picture of Christ. I love it!

We are so glad to have the back close to us!!!

Are you ready for some football?!

It has been an incredible season for Carter playing with the Stallions. His love for the game has quadrupled or more! He finally understands the game and knows his position and has been taught by some great coaches. This year has been so much better than last! He's made new friends too and had so much fun. A few of the parents are photographers and they get awesome photos of the game and share them so I can just sit back and enjoy the game. Here are some fun ones of Carter! Go #18!

Pocatello Temple Open House

I still remember the joy I felt when it was announced that Pocatello would be getting a temple. I knew that we would HAVE to go to the open house. How special that all 3 towns that we have lived in now have or will have a temple soon!! It was beautiful inside and there is no better feeling than having your whole family in the temple!

After the open house we met my mom and took her to breakfast for her birthday! She is 60 now! Looking good mom! Then we had to get on the road so Chad could get to work.
We had a little time to kill so we stopped at the International Peace Gardens. It is a super beautiful place and the girls enjoyed posing by all of the flowers.

Teenager in the house

I can't believe Carter is 13!!!!! The first gift he opened was from G&G Hymas...freeze dried skittles AND taffy!!!! YUM!
He got a new wakeboard on the morning of his birthday...we were hiding it in the trunk and asked him to go put something away in the trunk for us and he found it!!!  Oops!!
Birthday breakfast.
Present time!
It was about the time he was opening presents that i started feeling really bad. I had  had a cough and it was so painful. I got a few covid tests and they were negative so I tearfully went off to urgent care while chad took the kids to ice cream. Carter had football so Chad took treats to his practice. I felt so bad I missed out! But I needed some relief! I came down with bronchitis and got some good  meds to help me. I felt so sad it was his birthday and I was so sick. When I came home crying, he gave me a big hug and said it was a really great birthday. He's such a good kid.

Several days later we were finally able to celebrate and have a party with friends. He just wanted to play night games with friends at the park so that is what we did after some pizza! He invited a few girls, but just Katelyn came.

We loaded into cars to go to the park, we had planned to take 2 cars but they quickly all hopped in the back of the truck. I threatened them with their lives to not do anything dumb. We were just going a few blocks.
After night games, we came back for kit kat ice cream cake!
Wow, it was rich, but SO good!
Cute kids. But STINKY!
Look how handsome this kid is! He has grown alot in the last year in alot of ways but he has grown UP too! HE's almost as tall as I am even though I tell him he never will be! I sure love him and I'm so grateful for the good hearted, sweet kid that he is. Love you Carter man! Stay sweet!
