Sweet 16

I really had to coax Carter into having a party and when he agreed, they all had a blast at our house!

We BBQd and had yard games set up.

An ice cream bar was for dessert.

Cute girls were all around!

It was a super fun evening!

 Can't believe we are here all ready! Wish us luck with the dating and driving! You've gone pretty easy on us kiddo,  I hope it continues! We are extra proud of who you are becoming!

Exploring

Alex told me about Pink Lake in my backyard so we had to go. Sure enough, it is as pink as ever! The creatures that live in it make it appear pink. It is SALTY! Everywhere there are crystalized salt formations. Everything sparkles!

You could walk for miles and never go above your knee. The water is so clear too. Watch out if you have a cut though! It will sting!

Chad and I did some mountain exploring for fun one day too. We have so much interesting beauty all aroind us! 

 

Growing Up

Yes, i did just do an update on Carter but he's into a stage of life where there's alot going on! He scheduled his Patriarchal Blessing on Aug 25. It was an incredible experience. So many specific things were mentioned and it was neat to have our eyes opened to his potential, of course we already know it as his parents, but to hear it through a mouthpiece from God is so special.

He also asked Brekkyn to his first homeoming dance.

And we had our eyes opened to the world of XC! Wow we had no clue how amazing it is.  I seriously was brought to tears as we watched and took in the sights. In what other sport can you come in dead last and be cheered for the same way the first place kid was cheered for?! 

We loved watching him race and do something hard! We learned we better wear our running shoes too to get from place to place to watch him run! I love that he chose this sport. There are awesome kids here that he will forever call friends!
 

Fun Nights

 Preacher Lawson came to town, so we had to go see him. He's still great but not as great as he used to be. 

I took the girls to a play called Fighter. It was neat and fun to share the theatre experience with them. Not so fun getting lost in down town slc, but we made it!

And for a fun girls night for Alex's bday we went to Garage Grill. So unique and cool!

C-man update

 

I guess all these camps and things are preparing me to let this kid leave the nest! I think he was gone more this summer than he was home! Besides FSY and YM camp, he attended a high altitude running camp this year. A reward for running a certain amount of miles over the summer. Sounds super hard to me but he loved it! Once school got back in I took him to lunch after an apt just to be able to see him now!

He got his second first place at a home race and we also scored big in the raffle!

We are also sharing his time now with a girlfriend. Super weird, but shes fun.

Proud of you C! No matter how big you get, you'll always be my little Cman.

Back To School

School came sooo early this year. Its hard to go back when temps are still in the 80s and boating weather is still here. But go we did.

Mollie to 8th grade

Rylee to 4th

Brielle to 5th

And Carter off to XC at the crack of dawn and then on to 10th grade!
