Ea-mas reunion day 2

The BEST thing about vacations sometimes is that the men will make breakfast! Chad and Sam started off our day with full bellies with bacon and french toast (i think).
Then we hopped in the car and rode up past mackay to a beautiful hike to a waterfall we did a few years ago at the hymas reunion. It's a good hike and the kids did really well.

And there were lots of breaks for photo opps.

Rylee was probably the happiest girl of all! And man she is not light anymore. Chad and I and Sam all took turns carrying her.

CUUUUTE kids!

The hike goes along the river and once you start getting close you see more and more small waterfalls along the way.

i always love the bridge because it means we are close to the top!

The pics never ever do it justice, but just know its absolutely breath taking! And the spray off after a hot hike felt fabulous.

This shot with sam and nan in it shows how much water is co'ming out of a hole in the mountain! I'm always so curious what it looks like INSIDE the mountain!

 Photo bomber!
 there, thats better!
 The guys....and girls.

We love this family and love that they are always up for an adventure!

After some food, rest and a shower we were ready for some more fun! We hopped on the 4 wheelers and in the trailer and off we went!
Carter was riding a NEW bike from uncle Chris and it took him a few practice rides to get it down. But once he had it we took him on a ride! I was so proud of him when a dog came running and barking at him and he kept his bike upright! I was sure he would go down!

Lots of fun riding out here and breathing in some fresh air. And dirt.
And it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt! I was riding in the trailer and Chads hat flew off and hit me right in the nose! I thought my nose was broken! But no, it just left a bruise and a very sore spot! Glad it wasn't IN my eye.

At night, we played sharks and minows and I think that everyone may have peed their pants just a little from all the fun and giggling we were doing! This was a favorite of my trip. And after another campfire, and dutch oven cobbler, we laid on the grass once it was dark all in a big pile with tons of blankets around us and watched the meteor shower that was going on that night. Moore is a PERFECT place to be when you are trying to see the stars. And we all saw several shooting stars. It was AWESOME! And a perfect way to end the trip.

The morning we left, no one wanted to. We were really lazy, slept in and lounged around for most of the day. The girls found some new friends in the horses across the field and enjoyed talking to them.

And we ended the trip where we started it....at JACK IN THE BOX! A family fav for all of us. Any time we go to idaho we tease sam that we are eating there. It's one of his favorites from living in california and so of course we had to hit it up twice! And you know its a good trip when everyone feels or looks like Mollie at the end of the trip. We had a blast and we played hard! Looking forward to next year!!!!

3rd annual EA-MAS reunion

This year for a little get away with our Eash friends we decided to take them to good ol Moore Idaho! We went to Craters of the Moon on the first day. I haven't been there since 2nd or 3rd grade and I don't really remember much about it. Chad took the youth there a few years ago and they seemed to really like it.
 All our cute kiddos!
You'll see alot of these 3 posing through the next few posts. But they were troopers and walked almost the whole time.

 Cool old tree.
 Ta-DA!
We climbed up this huge cone that was covered with black sparkly rocks! The pics of course don't show how gorgeous it was but our girls LOVED collecting the sparkly rocks.
When we made it to the top it was such a great view!Carter kept saying he felt so peaceful and would just sit there and look out and sometimes close his eyes. It was adorable. And I was so proud of all the kids hiking up this hill because it was hard. (For everyone but Ethan who RAN to the top! but paid for it a little when he got there.)

Next up was some caves! Unfortunately they were having a huge wasp problem and they told us to avoid some areas of the park, but we were still able to hit up the Boy scout cave that was 100% dark and I think it was called Indian cave or something like that.

It was creepy! But amazing how there was ice on the walls of the cave!

The wasps flew around the holes in the cave trying to catch drops of melting ice.
It was totally amazing at the temperature drop in these caves! From scorching hot 90 degree weather on top, to almost freezing down below! And don't worry, Sam got in on carrying Rylee a little too! Thats's the real reason we brought him! JK. Sort of.

After walking nearly all morning it was finally time for a picnic lunch! Food always tastes better when you've been out hiking in the sun all day!

We went back to Clyde and Evelyns and finished out the rest of our evening eating, talking, and sitting around the fire! Stay tuned for day 2!

Double weekend dates!

Its not often we get DOUBLE weekend big dates! But these were planned out in advance and just happened to be 1 week apart! While the fair was here we got tickets to see Craig Morgan! Theres so many of his songs I love and so we HAD to go! We had pretty good seats and he really put on a good show!

During intermission I got up to go see how much his shirts were. (too expensive!) but as I turned around and started walking back, you could hear him singing but not seem him. It was getting dark so i just made my way back to my seat. While I was walking, I almost walked smack dab into him! He looked me straight in the eyes and shook my hand. He had come in from the back and surprised everyone and I just happened to be right in his way! Super cool!

It was a wonderful evening and don't worry, we ate some yummy fair food while we were waiting!!

The next weekend, we went to Preacher Lawson!  It was Chad's fathers day gift. We followed him on Americas Got Talent a few years ago and he was just so funny! And he's clean and NEVER cusses! Someone in the audience even asked him that and he relied that he just didn't like to.
Oh heavens I laughed SO hard that night! He is such a great comedian. The opening act totally sucked though and almost ruined the night. I was really hesitant because I REALLY wanted it to be clean and enjoyable and besides the first girl, it was awesome!

Hope we can see him again some day!!! Glad I got these needed nights out with Chad! Summers can be a doozy on the "Mommin'!"
