On the next day we got up early to try to beat the heat and go see the Petroglyphs. They are famous in many nature and history magazines and SO SO amazing to see. The views on the way there were incredible too.
We started a short hike and saw many cool things along the way. Along with drawings we saw a few little lizards!
Destiny, Ethan and Carter were always up ahead climbing on any extra rocks they could.
The little girls wanted pictures taken on every cool spot they could find. It really was amazing to see the erosion of the rocks and try to imagine what it used to look like and how many stories and histories were lost in rock slides or erosion.

I wish the pictures would have turned out better. And I found myself really wanting to know what was so significant in each indians life that they would spend days carving out a story or event that happened to them.
There were lots of headless bodies. and some were dubbed the head collectors or something like that.

On our way out we saw this flag painted high up on a rock wall. How'd they get up there?!
We hit the park for lunch and the big boys had just as much fun as the kids. They created a spinning contest for themselves which was pretty humorous.

We then went out to the wall of bones and a really cool dino museum.
Can you imagine really if something with this big of feet was chasing you?!

SO ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! This wall is right out of the mountain. They found so many bones like this and decided to preserve them to show how they are found and extracted. Where we stood used to be a river and it is not known how or why they died. But their bones are scattered everywhere and its incredible to see what they have found.

There are random dinosaurs all over Vernal since that is their history. We stopped at this one which looked cool from afar, but close up it looked like a high school project made out of paper mache'. We headed back to our home and relaxed the evening away. Mollie made a cute nest and the kids again just played so well in the back yard.
DAY 3 we took it slow and got up and cleaned the house. I ran and did a little shopping nice and early while others slept, then we packed up and left the house to go to our last destination. The Utah Field House of Natural History State Park Museum was extra cool with so many historic things to look at.

We could do a dino dig and play with toy dinos. And we watched an informative video about what may have happened to them and how they are found and extracted.
I kind of liked this guy and I was very surprised he was a herbivore. He looks mean and came from the saber tooth family.

I had been to this place before when i was probably 5 or 6 with my parents and grandma Buckley. Here is Mollie in front of the same dino I had a picture in front of! The museum people said that many had been repainted and they had moved locations. I think its the same one! Look at that!
We spent the afternoon lounging at the same fun park as the day before just relaxing in the shade. We packed and cooked most of our food which really was life saving but made sure to visit the local soda shop each day for a treat. We even made it to DI one day with just the adults. It was tiny!
On the way home we stopped at what looked like a cool store called Junk in the Trunk! It was mostly antiques and junk like it says on the sign. But it was still fun to get out and look around. We also stopped at an Indian memorial for Indians who died in wars but weren't American citizens (or something like that) It was really cool to see such a neat tribute. We also drove past a indian cemetary. It was old and spooky looking and many of the graves were above ground. So strange to see!! But cool too.
All in all, it was a fun relaxing trip. I came home feeling refreshed and relaxed. The kids were good and enjoyed it too I think and we got even closer to our buddies Sam and Nan. We are grateful for their family!
