HYMAS Reunion

We had just a few days to do laundry and recover from our Hawaiian vacation before it was time for the Hymas Reunion. We have been trying for a while to get everyone to go boating again and we finally made it happen. 

The first thing Carter and I did was go for a bike ride around the lake. We've always wanted to go the whole way but we usually walk and someone is always tired. We a had a great time on a beautiful calm morning riding around the lake. 

We had lots of set up to do and Chad made sure Clyde was nice and steady while doing so. 

Finally we got out in the boat! We had Chelseys kids with us too even though they were unsure. They wouldn't admit it, but I think they had fun. 

This old wet suit always cracks me up but Carter was sure he'd need it. With all the snow melt off, things were slightly cooler!

Love seeing grandma in the boat. Its her happy place. 

Ry and Edie became quick friends!

And the big kids went exploring all around and got along great!

We almost missed the poppy season but I was glad we caught the tail end of it to show everyone how beautiful it was! They all loved it and  had to stop for pictures. 

The camping gang! We are hoping to get more up there again for next year!

We had 2 boats and several paddle boards and we took turns with who was in the boat and who was on the sand and Rylee only wanted to play here. She loves the sand. 

I was glad Chet and Gavin could come at the last minute. The kids hit it off quick!

Hollin and Chase even came up and Hollin got right up on her board. Chase tried but decided quickly that wasn't for him. I was glad they came up though!

I got Jilly to paddle board with me and then the kids thought that was great and took her out too! She loves the water just like the kids. 

This was such a great trip! The highlights were boating, playing Peter Peter Paul Paul for hours, yummy food, having Cami's family there and just hanging out! Looking forward to next year!
 

Reed Luau Reunion Part 2

It was fun to dress up every day and see what people came up with. We saved the Best Hawaiian shirt for the last day. 

And of course had to take pics of everyone next to the tiki tower. 

We actually did get a 'beach' day at brigham resivour. It was sort of warm enough but most everyone got in. Here's the cool kids club heading off to the water!

The big kids had fun jumping off the end of the dock. 

That night it was Luau time! We had a good friend smoke some pork for us for dinner and it was delicious! We paired it with some Hawaiian rice. Ad  and Brit made a mocktail for us and it was delish!

After dinner we had a luau party! We started with the Limbo!

And more hula hoop contests!

Mollie helped the little kids learn the cutest hula dance and they did so good!  I don't have pics of it here I guess. But know it was adorable!!!! And here are me and brit in our matching coconut and shell bras. 

It was exhausting but so fun! I loved all the fun things we did and the memories we made. I love coming from a family that we can all get together and be silly and have gobs of fun! 
 

Reed Reunion Luau Part 1

We were SUPPOSED to be camping for the Reed Reunion this year that Chad and I were in charge of. At the last minute, my mom called me and said that it was going to rain every day we were camping and they really wanted to buy an air bnb that everyone could fit in and have it there instead. I was very hesitant because of the cost. But they insisted they didn't care. So instead of rainy Mantua res, we were at a house in Logan. 

We arrived, the house was great and the games began! We started with hawaiian charades. The theme was Hawaiian. 

I had a ton of fun figuring out food and games and decor. Thanks pintrest for making me look goooood!

We had a drink tiki bar and everyone had their own cup. These were super fun too so anyone could go make a fun drink at any time!

We had an Idaho day where we all wore our Idaho shirts that we made to celebrate our heritage.

Between rain showers, we went to the park and played volleyball and round net and 4 square game. 

While we played, the littles dug for shells that magically appeared in the sand. 

Back at the house the games continued with mango wars and lei tosses. 

Grandpa entertained the grands with a fake airplane ride. 

The littles ran around blowing bubbles and playing games. 

Jord and Tay made us some pineapple upside down cake!

Mollie greeted everyone with some ukuele music and played it throught the weekend. 

Every night we awarded the Big Kahuna! Whoever showed most Hawaiian spirit and participated in the games won a nice Big Kahuna head dress and candy. 

Some of them pretended they were at the beach and did yoga outside. 

We crafted and fished (at grandmas pond) for fun little treasures. 

Then it was time for a hog hunt. The men in the family needed to hunt for a pig to cook for dinner! Knife throwing ensued once the pig was found!

More hula hoop games...warming our hips (and our necks) up for the big Hula!

One evening we escaped to the creamery for ice cream! The kids were delighted by this COW-CH.

We couldn't be that close to the logan temple without swinging by and taking our famous picture. Such a special spot! 

 I loved staying up late and chatting with my sibs and eating to much and laughing till I peed. Sure love this gang of mine and we sure needed some happy bonding times! More coming right up!
