HOCO

One of the biggest joys of parenting is watching your kids go to school dances! I love watching my kids get dressed up and go on dates. It is so special! (And a little crazy watching them try to plan all the things and manage time!)

Carter and Brekkyn went together and had a really good time! They did a hike and a picnic for their day date and it was a beautiful day for them!

Cute matching shoes! Of course, girls can't wear heels on the gym floor so they have to get creative.

These pics turned out SO good!
Handsome man!!!! <3
Cute dates. We got to see them all for about 2 min.

Ring around the Rosie....why not?!
We all fall down.

Loved watching all of this unfold!

Carter man is 17!

This kid has grown up WAY too fast! He's a good kid and motivated and kind. I couldn't ask for more. He wanted his usual dessert, brownie raspberry trifle and then he couldn't wait to get out the door to his  team pasta party. I was ok with it because Mollie had a game and we weren't home anyway.
The gf got to come over for dessert and gifts.

And I couldn't help myself, its been a while since I got to take a treat to school for his birthday, but since we were at the school for a game anyway, I thought I'd surprise him with some popsicles for him and his team after their run. They were all so cute and happy that it was Carter's birthday and very happy to have a popsicle on a warm day.
Oh, XC kids and their shorts! Ha!

Happy birthday bud. I can't believe you're going into your last year of childhood. It's gone by faster than I ever dreamed. Your quiet courage and strength are great qualities and I hope you always keep it. You are patient and level headed and you make good choices. I know you're so excited to grow up, but try to enjoy this last year, ok?1 Love ya forever!

Septembery things

We've lived in Tooele for almost 14 years and never have hiked to the T on the mountain. It was a beautiful fall day and we started early. Not too much complaining happened and we made it! And the view was super cool.
The T is just a big tarp. Kinda junky up close, but cool from far away!
Sitting on the edge of the T
Ry is mastering making brigadeiros.
Brekkyn answered Carter to HOCO at one of his races. She stood at the start line and had the announcers call Carter out. Cute!

One night, Ry asked if me and her could go to the temple. All the fall foilage was in bloom and very beautiful. It was one of those perfect calm evenings and I loved being with my bug.

Bri got BRACES! She is rubbing it in Mollie's face that she got them first.
Bri is also running for student council. (And she MADE IT!)
ANNND we got to spend an evening snuggling Baby Koen the night before his blessing day. We all are in love!

Happy September!

Happenings

XC is in full swing! I love how happy this sport makes this kid! He's so tough and improving so much. He's pumped for his Jr year and has goalssssss.

When I saw that Randy Travis was coming to SLC I didn't even read about it and booked the tickets then and there! Come to find out, Randy had a stroke a few years back and can't talk or sing. And the band hired someone to sing his songs. I was less excited but still went. And the guy wasn't half bad! Randy still came on stage and smiled and waved and even spoke what he could. They sent tracks of his songs to an AI company and they actually could duplicate his voice and so he could continue to write and 'sing.' Quite miraculous what they can do now a days and the song sounded legit! It was still a fun evening. Next time though, I'll read the full description before we go.

And I guess I've reached a new level of old. I started having foot problems so I went to the doctor and got this sporty new cast for a few weeks. Ugh...I remember my grandma wore something like this and I felt soooo old. Luckily it helped and I wasn't in in too long.

Where does summer go?

And just like that, the summer is OVER! Where does it go? I can be happy though knowing we played so hard from the tired in our eyes and the sun kissed skin. Here comes the 26-27 school year!

Carter Juinor Yr!
Mollie Freshman Yr! Here comes high school

Ry is off to 5th grade

And Bri is starting her last year of elementary school in 6th grade! Her hair has beads in in from Brightons camp that she just got home from!

Have the best school year kiddos! I sure love you.

This is my first rodeo

I've wanted to take my kids to a small town rodeo for a long time. The ones in Utah are so big and miserable because SO many people go. The stars finally aligned and I got to take my kids to the Cassia County Fair and Rodeo! It was Tough Enough to Wear Pink night, so naturally we all dressed in pink!
Except Carter. But they ALL loved it! We had a fun time and they are already begging to go back and have a maple bar and go to the rodeo!

I'm so glad we could go! It was a great time!
