Portuguese Performace

Carter had a Portuguese performance when we got home. Chad was still gone but I loaded up all the kids and got them into the school for a ONE MINUTE performance! Come on!!! But I have to remind myself that it is really cool to see him do these things and see him LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE! That really is a big deal and I'm so glad that this program is here in Tooele. He really is getting to where he can say alot. I'm excited for 3rd grade because that is when they say the really take off!

Kemmerer

After an interesting drive though some seriously small, po-dunk towns like cokeville, we arrived in Kemmerer WY. Man there is nothing in that town but it sure was great to see my husband after a week without him! The kids were ecstatic! Chad had hidden some eggs with candy around the hotel room so they went to work finding eggs and eating more candy.
This was a highlight of the trip for them and thought it was pretty fun riding the luggage cart.
The beds were so comfy and the room was really nice and spacious. The kids went swimming and then went right to sleep. I caught this cute one of the girls snuggling.
We planned to attend church somewhere since it was Easter sunday and found a ward to attend that wasn't too early. Carter woke up with a flu bug but we ended up going anyway just planning to stay for sacrament. We walked in and could tell we were late....then realized it was STakE ConFereNce! Ugh. But there was only an hour left so we tried to make Carter as comfy as we could towards the back of the gym.
It was hard to get any really good pictures of the kids since 1, carter wasnt feeling well and 2 we were in a hotel.
Sunday selfie! The best we could do!
I did get a new skirt and shirt for Easter and wanted a picture of it!
After a little lunch (nasty) from the grocery store because it was the only place open in the whole town we headed out to a cool little fossil museum. (I was kind of paniking what we would do for dinner since the WHOLE town closes for this day. Luckily Pizza Hut opened at 4 so we could get a pizza for dinner.)

The museum happened to be out of power so the guide handed us some big flashlights and we took the tour in the dark. It was a little spooky! But very cool to see! They had lots of fish, bugs, etc but the coolest things were the turtles and the Alligators! We had a good time seeing these incredible pieces of nature.

There was a path out back that had a timeline from when the earth was created to today and when certain animals inhabited the earth. It was interesting to see.

Later that evening we also found this huge park that had so many fun toys! And many of the old toys that I used to play on as a kid that are now "too dangerous." This tire swing was a fav of the kids.
I loved these covered bench swings! My grandma had a swing like this on her porch I think and I loved swinging in it with her as a little girl. So it brought back good memories!
We stayed sunday night but Chad had to go back to work on Monday so we got up and left monday morning to head back to Tooele. Chad still had a few days to finish out and the kids had to get back to school. But it was a fun busy weekend and we put lots of miles on the car!

A road trip with the kids!

Chad was asked to work in Kemmerer WY for a few weeks and instead of staying home and missing him, me and the kids hit the road and headed to the 208! We love IDAHO! I was a tad nervous because we had quite the schedule ahead of us and I was driving solo but the kids did great! The first stop was G&G Reeds house.
We got there just in time for dinner and since it was Easter weekend the kids got to color eggs! Good thing she planned to do this because its not really my thing!
The next morning dad had to work and mom was working in the temple so we headed for stop #2 to Twin Falls! My friend Jenna had just had a new baby and I was anxious to meet her and hold her!
And little Lainey was SO sweet and Rylee stayed right by me and said "bebe" the whole time!
Mollie and Lily were a little shy at first, but by the end of the play date they didn't want to leave eachother! Carter and Jace just picked right up where they left off like they always have and played and played!

My other friend Tiffany swung by too and it was so fun catching up with my friends! I miss them all the time and I'm so grateful they were in my life at a time I needed them the most!
That night we headed back to grandmas so the Easter bunny could come! The kids were pretty happy when they woke up to goodies! (Except Carter did mention he didn't get what he wanted) But i kindly reminded him that the Easter bunny doesn't take requests like Santa does.

 Lots of loot!
Adam showed up that evening with some more goodies for the kids!
Build-a-bear tigers from ISU that him and Brit made for all the grandkids! They all have a t-shirt on the bear with their name on it.

After the morning festivities we headed to Idaho Falls with a few stops along the way in Poky and Chubbuck to have an Easter egg hunt at Aunt Jo's! The best part of celebrating Easter! Poor Bri doesn't have the body for skinny jeans and her bum hung out the whole time! Whoops. But it didn't slow her down!
Rylee loved it and grandma was a good helper for her. Mollie and Carter both of course loved it too but were moving too fast for me to get pictures of them.

Rylee was pretty happy when she figured out there were treats IN the eggs!
After a yummy lunch we were yet off on another road trip to middle-of-nowhere-WYOMING! Yeehaw!

Finally some good weather!

When the weather finally started turning a corner we were itching to get out and be outside! Chad and I were also asked to be a Ma & Pa on the stake trek this year. So we had to break in our new shoes and find a few hikes to take our trek family on. Yes there's still snow up in our mountains but it was so refreshing to get out in nature! One reason I like where we live is this right here! Hiking and camping in my back yard!
We took the kids along for a short hike and they all loved being outside too.
And with warm weather comes the annual water balloon fight waiting for dad as soon as he pulled int he driveway! These kids! They orchestrated this all on their own and had a whole bowl of balloons filled up before I was even out of bed!  As you can see,  the kids got the worse end of it all!

Come on nice weather! We are itching for you to be here!!!!

Fantastic Friday

No it wasn't just a great day...it was a MAJOR craft day that I, as the enrichment coordinator, was in charge of! I thought at first oh yes this will be fun and easy enough. WRONG! There is SOO much work that goes into these ward craft days so I was really glad to have a supportive husband who helped me for hours in the garage cutting, sanding and edging block after block to make this a successful night!
And it was just that! We had a really good turnout I thought and so many cute crafts were made! Here's a few fun pictures from that night.

Dinner was soup and bread bowls which was of course delish!

I didn't know it yet, but I soon would be called to a new calling but I will be relieved to not have to do another one of these nights although I did really enjoy it! It's just ALOT of work!

THIRTY-TWOOOOOO!

I'm getting up there in years! 8 away from 40!!! I wasn't expecting too much for my birthday because Chad would be working a little late and we were struggling to make plans to go out but I was surprised when I woke up to donuts from Chad on the counter!
He let me open my workout shoes I got for my birthday the night before so I ate some donuts and strapped them on to go workout!

The kids showered me with love and cards and sweet things but I couldn't open gifts till Chad got home.
I was spoiled by Chad and the kids quite nicely and got ANOTHER pair of Chucks that I LOVE!

That evening Chad didn't have to work too extra late and our friends decided they could meet us for dinner so we went to Red Robin ....YUMMMM! And just ate and chatted. It was a perfect day. Sometimes the simple things are the best things. I'm grateful to this man who treats me so well and chose me to be his wife. I'm one lucky (AND BLESSED) lady.
