Christmas break and New Years

Christmas Break wasn't all boring! I was grateful when some friends took Brielle and Mollie sledding.

Carter got his first shaving lesson.

Mollie caught up on all the Wednesday shows and her and Ash tried to be her. They had a hard time keeping a straight face.

New Years eve looked different than it ever has before! We made no plans knowing Rylee would not be up for it most likely. Surprisingly she was feeling pretty good. We ate some snacks and played some games. But Carter went to the teen dance and Mollie scored a babysitting job and so it was just us and the girls. We decided to celebrate the new year with the New Yorkers and watched the ball drop and cheered at 10. Then sent the girls to bed.
My new years kiss was digital this year since Chad had to go pickup Carter from the dance. Pretty low key and different but i was fine with it! Happy 2023!!!!

Peace out tonsils!

Poor Ry bug has had super big tonsils and is sick all of the time. She often complained about not being able to breathe. So I skipped her pediatrician and went straight to an ENT knowing that her doc would tell us to wait. The ENT agreed they should come out. THANK YOU!

So he set her an apt for just a few weeks later, and here we are! He is the same doc that did Brielle's surgery for tonsils. The morning of we gave her a warmie - a stuffed animal you can heat up like a rice pack for comfort. I thought it was a bear but when we pulled it out, it had a tail! So I guess its a cat.....Getting ready to go!

When she woke up she was NOT happy! She ripped our her IV and splattered blood. She was crying and inconsolable. Poor girl! She sort of ate a popsicle all while crying. She wasn't quite awake yet and they said it was normal for her to be like that. Chad carried her to the car and we took our baby home!
She was super spoiled by all the kids setting up a little space for her to have things to do and drinks near by and they all were waiting on her hand and foot.
Jilly even snuggled her and shared her bear...i mean cat.
Rylee was miserable but we did a good job of keeping her hydrated and fed her lots of ice chips. She slept alot the first few days and I was glad.
A day or so later she started turning red around her eyes. I called the doc and he said oh yeah she had an allergic reaction to the adhesive they use in surgery over the eyes. ....Well thanks doc, that would have been nice to know! So now we had to push benedryl along with the antibiotic and ibuprofen!
She loved having ice cream and popsicles as you can see by the leftover chocolate on her face.

After about 10 days, she was doing alot better and I was so glad. She was pretty whiney and it was hard keeping everyone happy while they were home on break and being able to take care of her. But we made it!

Cute kids

We came back in town to go to Church on Christmas Sunday and Rylee was asked to sing with a group of girls her age with the Choir in Sacrament meeting! She was so excited to and practiced her part over and over. I love my kids and was grateful we could be together in church on Christmas to celebrate the Saviors birth and remember Him.

One of the best gifts  I got was taking the challenge to invite someone to church. The lady I minister to had been on my mind and  so I invited her. I was shocked and so happy when she said yes, they'd love to come! So they came and I was just overcome with love for them!

The girls got right to building their gingerbread houses from G&G Hymas after church.

And Mollie did her beading.
And we've had the warmest weird weather for Dec so we were surprised at this beautiful Christmas sunset! How pretty!

The next day, we took Ry and a friend for a fun play date and donut because Rylee was getting her tonsils out 2 days after Christmas! I knew it wouldn't be a fun break, but it needed done and so we set it for them so she wouldn't miss too much school!

 Good Luck Ry Bug!!

Reed Christmas fun!

Its always a good time when the Reed's gather! This time was no exception. Jordan came with some silly games for us to play and it got all of us laughing!

We found out who has the most limber hips! It's MONSE!
Lots of cousin time and baby snuggle time was had.
Crafts and cookies were provided my gma.
And later we did a little nativity reading and acted it out with the grandkids.

Sleeping baby Tuck made the cutest baby Jesus.

The wisemen got creative with their gifts of gold!

And Tay was a good sport and stood in as a shepherd when Cam wasn't having it!

Poor Tuck!
Mollie went right to work with her new spa basket gift from grandma!
There was a little snow in Rupert so grandpa took the kids out to play. I stayed in and helped mom set up her new Alexa.

We stayed through the real christmas eve with G&G Reed but went home for Christmas day. It was nice and relaxing hanging out in our jamies and eating goodies and being safe and warm. Chad headed back to work and we headed home before the storms hit.
So grateful for goodly parents who make their home a place of joy and love and continue to do so as our family grows and changes. Love you both!!

Christmas SURPRISE

Its not too often on Christmas morning that we aren't up at 4 am! This was quite the surprise when we had to wake our kids up to open gifts and it was nearly 7! And I was rested! We sent one of the kids around to tell everyone Santa had come!  Santa definitely delivered with the gifts this year! A Barbie camper for Ry, a Gabb watch for Bri, room decor for Mol and a skateboard for C!
Santa even spoiled us with a kitchen aid and new speakers!

Always a prayer before we start.

Getting ready to open!
And the aftermath!
Carter quickly went to building his lego mustang.
And the girls busted out barbie stuff. And Mollie was room decorating so she was no where to be found.
I realized I didn't take many pics as I normally do because we were getting ready to head to Idaho for our big family party there! It still was a blissful morning and we really enjoyed getting to be together and surprise our kids. It brought a new kind of joy to my heart and made it special.

Off to grandma's we go! We are so very blessed! We are grateful for Christ and the gift he is to our family and each individual. We know he is the greatest gift that was ever given.
