We couldn't decide to camp or to get a house for the Reed Reunion but Justin graciously offered to rent a BnB at bear lake and many of us wanted to camp! So what the heck, we just decided to do both. We loaded up that burb as tight as we could make it! It was a squish, but we made it! And off to Hyrum we went to our favorite spot at Pioneer campground.
It was a holiday weekend and so I asked Carter if they had a freedom run if he'd want to do it. He said yes and when I looked into it, it was a 15K! Like 9 miles! He still wanted to. We learned that the start of the race was the park right next to our campground and so we signed him up! I've never seen so many people who PAID to run 9 miles up hill, but hundreds of people did it! We drove along the way cheering and making people move over for us. Once we got to our parade spot, the kids quickly went to work coloring hair, painting nails and getting all their red white and blue garb on!
We went over to cheer Carter on at the finish line and we were so proud of what he accomplished! He didn't feel great for a bit but he recovered and was really happy with his time.
Best cheerleaders!
Then we were off to the pancake breakfast! Can I just stop here and say how in love I am with the little town of Hyrym? The whole town seemed to come out and everyone was so nice and polite. I couldn't believe how kind the owners of the home were next to the property we were on for the parade. They came right over ( I was expecting they wanted us to move) but instead made it know if we needed a bathroom that their house was open to use. How nice!
At the breakfast we were greeted and talked to and people wanted to meet our dog and talk. The food was good and well organized and we all enjoyed our food I think! A business had a big cooler and plastic swimming pool full of free drinks on ice for anyone who wanted one. It was so generous!
Getting ready for the parade. I think every kids nails were painted!
These kids have grown and changed so much since the last time we were all together! We had to line them all up and take a good pic.
Even J dog was ready for the parade!
We learned that 3 towns come together to do this parade and they seriously throw a really good one!
This guy made me laugh. I bet he's been waiting this whole life for the parade!
Me and just had twinning shoes.
After lunch it was off to the park to play! I love park days with the fam, especially when everyone is up playing and having fun!
And the stream kept the littles and the dog very happy.
Twinning is winning.
And after a yummy dinner of sweet pork burritos, we went and found a large lawn where everyone gathered for fireworks. Again, another nice family feeling for a big gathering with nice people all around. This has been my favorite 4th of July in a long long time!
We headed back home on Saturday, but don't worry our fun isn't over yet! We still have 3 days of fun ahead. We just need to go home and repack and get the boat!!!
