Spring Breaaaaaaaak!!!!! Day 1

We hardly ever do something for spring break but this year i really wanted to. The last year has not been easy on us moms and so any chance we have to get out of the house, I really want to have! So I talked Chad into planning a trip. Mid March we got news that Chad's Auntie Sharon wasn't doing well and didn't have much time to live most likely. A few days before we left she did pass. When we got news of when her funeral would be, we decided to go to Moab anyway and go to Idaho as soon as we got home. Mollie had a late friday night game in Lehi so we got a hotel and went for ice cream after the game!

The next morning bright and early we took off to Moab!  Our first new adventure in Moab was to rent a 6 person side by side! We had no idea what we were getting into, but we were all SO excited!

The first trail had some steep drop - offs that made me pretty nervous but I thought I was the only one. All of a sudden, Brielle burst into tears from the back seat because she was scared to death! We pulled over and put her between Chad and I and kept on going. This trail was more of a road. But we did see some pretty amazing views!

Our next trail was called Finns and Things. It was a pretty crazy rock crawling experience for us. To pros, I'm sure it was mild but to newbies it was terrifying! Chad even got out a few times to try to figure out the safest way to climb down the rocks. We were scared. But as soon as we were done with it, we kinda wanted to do it again!

We had to clean and return our ATV by 6 so we finished up about 5. It was a good time. We went to a really yummy pizza place and got right in and loved our food. Mollie found this treasure hunt sign and was so excited and was begging to go. But we didn't. We don't need more treasures currently.
We got to our hotel and the kids immediately wanted to swim! Packing for 6 for several days to cram into a hotel is no easy task!

The pool was awesome but super chlorinated or something. My kids started coughing like crazy so we didn't stay too long. Even just sitting in the hot tub my eyes were burning! We got all cleaned up and snuggled into bed. Our room was perfect for us with a bed for everyone. We got a good nights rest to tackle the next day!

My ring!

I was super disapointed when I realized my wedding ring was falling apart! The diamonds were chipping and the edges were getting worn down quite a bit. I was afraid  I was going to lose the diamonds! It needed some help. I finally bit the bullet and sent it off to get fixed. My brother Adam picked it when it was done and delivered it to Chad.
I walked in the house one day and my cute husband was down on 1 knee re-proposing to me with my new beautiful ring!!!! Of course I said yes again. And I would 1000x over! My new ring is so pretty and bright and beautiful!! I'm so glad we were able to fix it!

Student(s) of the month!

Brielle was thrilled to death when she was picked as student of the month! Her teacher sent me these cute pictures of her! We are so proud of her!

And Rylee was chosen as dancer of the month at her Gym class! It's true, she is always smiling!!
And Brielle's PE teacher sent this to me when they were learning basketball! Her and Rylee were dribbling the ball like pros! Sure proud of my girls!

Spring sports...brrr

Brielle improved so much in her basketball season and really learned to love the game! Dad was always up for giving her some tips and she tried really hard to do what he taught her.
She got a hoop in one game and she ran right over to us and said now we are going for ice cream! So of course we had to!
Then soccer started! Our first few games were FRIGID cold!!! We've had a very wet March with lots of snow and rain. I know we need it for our valley but dang its no fun for sports. It rained an entire game of Mollie's and I felt SO bad for the girls! I wanted to run around with them and  hold my umbrella over them!

Our Saturdays are SO busy getting all 3 of these kids to their things! But I'm trying to remember at this time last year all these things were being taken away from them! So I'm embracing the busy, the cold sports, the rain and snow and wind....just because I love these kids and love watching them succeed at their sports and watching their confidence soar! Go kids!!!

This happy/sad life

One thing that is sure of life is that it is a rollercoaster of emotions. One minute you can be riding high and within seconds your world can crash down. Life is just interesting.
Our hearts were broke a few years ago when we learned of some friends getting a divorce. It seemed unavoidable, selfish and wrong. It upset me for a long time. Chad and I were both friends with them. But our hearts were healed as we watched one of Chad's best buddies marry a girl and we got to celebrate with them at their reception. We watched Mason go through so much heartache. We saw him break. So to see him so happy was healing for our souls. I wish him the best life because he truly is such a great person!

On March 7th I got a message from a friend explaining to me that my friend Skylar Scott had been killed the day before. He rolled his side by side, and not being buckled, it crushed his head. Skylar and I were pretty close in high school. He was always there ready to chat or go for a drive or give those big Skylar grins with a huge bear hug. He was a good one and always looking out for me.

Just after high school, he rolled his truck and almost died. During high school he blew out his knee and had major constructive surgery. His occupation was working on high voltage power lines hanging from a helicopter high in the air! He was always giving people heart attacks with his daring tendencies! I remember seeing how crushed he was when he couldn't play football. We had some good talks about it. May you rest in peace Skylar! You crazy son-of-a-gun!

Cute kids

For Dr. Suess week the kids had a dress up day to dress as what you wanted to be when you grow up. Brielle and Mollie chose teachers and Ry chose a doctor. Carter dressed as a moto Xer.

And Jilly...not sure what she wants to be when she grows up...maybe everybodys best friend.

One day she walked up casually and laid down at my feet...like she normally would, except for this time I noticed a big pink 'necklace' around her neck. Despite replacing all  the garbage cans in the house to have lids, she was still digging in them! I just laughed at how non chalant she was acting! No mom, I wasn't in the garbage can!!!
The kids also had a Throwback day when they could pick a decade to dress as...this is what we came up with.

The end of school is nearing and I can FEEL IT!

Happy Anniversary to US!

March 1st fell on a Monday this year, which meant instead of fancy dinners and overnighters we were running kids to activities. But that's just how the cookie crumbles! We are celebrating 13 years this year! Time isn't slowing down. To celebrate, though, we took ourselves for a quick couples massage at a Spa in Stansbury. It was a really nice place...however their massage therapists talent left something to be desired. It was almost humorous how not good it was. Later that night we went to dinner with Sam and Nannette and had a nice evening out. It was busy since it was Friday so we had to wait a bit since restaurants are still only at 50% capacity. I'm so ready for that to be over!!

All in all it was a nice day and I'm so glad that our love over the years has grown and changed and developed into something beautiful! I really wouldn't want to do life with anyone else. I hope for many many more happy years of love and laughter and kindness and joy. Sure love you hubs!
